Alabama is one of the greatest states in the country. We have friendly, generous, hard-working people; great natural beauty; strong communities; and a pro-business climate.
We are, however, facing a number of challenges: high unemployment rates, shortages in state and local budgets, the critical need to pursue stronger ethics and reduced governmental corruption, and the imperative need to elect leadership from the top down who puts principles and people first. I understand the importance of working across party lines and have a proven track record of working with everyone, no matter their party affiliation.

Earlier in my career, I lived and worked in more than 40 countries on five continents. That experience taught me to truly love and appreciate our home state and country. Serving as a medic for people who were willing to fight and die for their freedom, as our American troops do every day, made me even more determined to never accept the status quo just because it's easier.
